Ponte Vedra : Evening Swim

We unpacked our bags just in time to pack our suitcases back up again for an end of summer beach trip. I really love going to the beach in May, but with house showings & end of school events our trip got pushed back into July. This was really a blessing in disguise as our family truly relaxed and exhaled for the first time in 4 months on this trip. Unplugging is a conscious decision and we tried our best on this trip to just enjoy family time...undistracted. Although, I love to joke that a beach trip with kids is a SAHM's work trip. It's a lot of work traveling with little ones.

Miller's passion at the beach is boogie boarding. Our Big Kahuna was given a run for his money on the giant waves in the Atlantic. They pounded him silly with crashing force. He always popped back up after somersaulting underneath the wave. Stop. my. heart.  I couldn't relax with his rough housing in the surf. The currents made him drift a little out of my comfort zone. I considered a long waist leash to keep him in the right depth of water. This one has no fear.

We've made it a new rule as a family to carve out late evening swims at the beach during "magic hour" at least one night. This is our absolute favorite time on the shore, but we often miss out rushing out to dinner after naps.
Miller's trunks needed to be rolled up and tied tight to prevent indecent exposure:) Those waves were unreal. They turned him upside down so much that we had to treat a minor chaffing problem on his legs from all the sand in his trunks. An A&D ointment salve solved the problem.

"Cinda-bella" never leaves her tight grasp these days. The Disney Princess indoctrination has already started with this girly.

Eliza Kate wants to follow Miller around and try out everything he does. At times, I feel like it has aged her beyond her years. I did let her try out surfing on dry sand.

See our tandum boogy-ers? She sat on Miller's back and surprised him!

Melt my heart. M&M bribery works for those sand dune shots. They magically cooperated together.

They do love eachother {at times}. What more could a mother want than to see her littles smooching in the sand?

We enjoyed every last ounce of sunlight, playing, running, chasing and....

dancing. At 2.4 this girly loves to twirl with her hands up in the air. I think we might have a little ballerina in training.

Looking forward to keeping our evening swim tradition alive. Oh how we made the most of our daylight on this fun night. Both littles slept soundly tucked in their beds.
