Wedding Weekend

A big Congratulations goes out to the happy couple, Melissa & Chris! We celebrated in grand style this weekend with a wonderful marriage celebration. The fun all started on Friday at the bridesmaid's luncheon in Roswell. The girls enjoyed chatting and taking part in all the anticipation of Melissa's big day! The bride did a wonderful job of making each bridesmaid feel so special and told funny stories and experiences of her single days & her journey to meeting Chris.



Miller was thrilled to spend time with babysitter, Alexandra from the neighborhood on Friday night. It's so great to have a dependable babysitter in the neighborhood that we can trust. She's such a little mommy with 4 younger brothers and sisters at home. Of course, I had all the specific directions of Miller's schedule, dinner and routine recorded for her. I spent Friday afternoon, posting our emergency numbers and poison control. You try to prepare for a worse case scenerio. Her parents always try to be home when Alex is in charge. It brought me back to my babysitting days. Somehow I still don't feel old enough for the roles to be reversed.
Off we went, to attend the rehearsal and enjoy dinner at 103 West. What a party! It was so nice to spend time with the wedding party and laugh at stories of days gone by. I feel like I really got to know Chris, the groom, a lot better through meeting his friends. It's all so exciting when we just know that he's the right guy for Melissa.



Landon's parents came in from Knoxville late Friday night to watch Miller for the rest of the weekend. The changing of the guards happened while we were enjoying our fun night out on Friday. Saturday greeted us with family fun while we all played with Miller. Then, it was off to the church for picture time, primping and spending time with the bride. She's cheered us on throughout the years, so you can only imagine what a party it was in the bride's room! What a special time to pray over Melissa before she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was beautiful and Melissa was absolutely stunning, model-esque in her gown with a flower pinned on the side of her hair. She was breathtaking coming down the aisle.


We capped off the evening at Cherokee Town Club dancing to Mo Town, celebrating and catching up with old friends. Landon and I had a surprise of actually following the bride and groom's vintage Rolls Royce all the way down West Paces Ferry. We had a lot of fun pulling up to their "carriage" just before getting on to 75. It was exciting to send them on their way to St. Lucia.

Post Valentine's Day Playdate

 

 

 

Miller and I had the pleasure of attending Jack's 2nd annual Valentines Mommy and Me Bash today. Yes, it was actually on President's Day, but how can you celebrate that with toddlers? It's too cute to look at all of our pictures from last year and see just how much these kiddos have grown and changed. A few Valentine's have even added siblings, which joined the party this year. Kids and mommas enjoyed the "wear red" and bring red to eat playdate. Our contribution was red- hot sprinkled cupcakes. Miller tries so hard to eat at these shin-digs, but it's just too hard to concentrate on food when Jack's playroom is on his mind. He downed 4 bites of pizza, a few strawberries, and squeezed apple juice from a juice box all over his shirt before he trotted solo downstairs. The other kiddos were too excited about dessert to play. So much for Miller trying out one of those cupcakes!

 

Nothing Says I Love You Like...

A Monster Truck! Enjoy a few pictures I captured last Friday at Grandmama and Poppy's house. They spoiled Miller with his very own Monster Truck. We couldn't unscrew it fast enough from the box for Miller to get his hands on his new truck. To our surprise, it lights up, moves forward, and backwards, and plays music. Oh, how it blares 80's punk rock music and somehow an announcer says "4 by 4 start your engines", "Engines, GO!" yada yada yada. The two options for sound are "On" and "Mute" but there is no volume control. Talk about the shock of your life when you trip over this truck in the middle of the night! Landon and I have the sounds memorized by now. In fact, it was the background music to our romantic V-day dinner! Having a kid sure changes a lot:) Landon hopes this purchase appeases Miller's desire to ever attend one of those Monster Truck Arena shows. We know a few 5 year old boys who love to go to these events with their dads!
Thank you Grandmama and Poppy for treating Miller to a new toy. You really know how to pick out a gift for our boy! He loves it!

Baby Noah

I thought I'd dedicate a post to Miller's most favorite movie. From morning to night he points his finger to the DVD player repeating "Watcha Baby Noah?" About every third day, I give into his request.
Tonight was just one of those opportunities. Cleaning with a toddler can be quite a challenge. Miller loves to stand directly in front of the vacuum cleaner and hovers over it to watch his hair blow. He follows me from room to room standing right in my path. As you can imagine, this makes cleaning the floors an arduous task. Between rescuing Miller's beloved basketball in the kitty's litter box ( a big No-No), retrieving a train in the toilet and finding Miller playing in an enclosed shower.....I had, had enough of my cleaning adventure! To Miller's & Mommy's delight, Baby Noah came to the rescue! Whew, I could finally finish up my vacuuming in peace!
I can't figure out Miller's obsession with this paticular DVD. On the cover it says 1 year plus. I'm thinking it's already too babyish for our budding 2 year old. He just loves the animal scenes and puppets. He laughs and points to the ark and can't wait to spot the "rainbow". At the end of the show, he responds with a round of applause and says "Nignt night Baby Noah". We're going on about 3 months of Miller just loving his favorite Einstein movie. We'll see just how long this obsession lasts.

Happy Valentines Day

A few things we LOVE about our Funny Valentine:

- When we say, "I love you", Miller responds with "SO much!"

- Miller loves his pals. I love it when he says goodbye to them by name and sometimes solicits a hug and a kiss.

- We love Miller's growing play list of karaoke songs. There's nothing like hearing his sweet, husky voice belt out the ABC jingle, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and we're working on Jesus Loves Me. He seems to be a music lover already, requesting "music" when we get into the car.

-Miller entertains himself by hiding in different places around the house. We love to hear him say, "Where is he?" when he's in a secret location. Once we uncover his mysterious hiding spot he announces with a smile, "There he is!" Today, he was playing hide and seek under the bed.


We love our precious little Valentine, "SO much!"





Miller had fun this afternoon playing with a red heart balloon from Grandmama and Poppy. He didn't like how the ribbon tickled his nose. After intense concentration, pulling and tugging, he figured out how to get the balloon on his level to grab it tight! Oh the joys of a red heart balloon.

Birmingham Soiree

This weekend Brittany and I drove over to Birmingham for the weekend to celebrate in the upcoming wedding of Melissa & Chris. Melissa has been the Star Bridesmaid throughout all of our weddings and now it's her turn to participate in all the bridal fun. Now I won't divulge just how many weddings Melissa has gladly participated in, but picture the movie 27 Dresses. No, I'm not lying! She's landed the most perfect groom for her and it's awesome to see just how God worked it out in her life. And, he's been well worth the wait.
So, you can only imagine how the bridesmaids have spoiled her during the past few months. This weekend was her fun lingerie shower and Bacherlorette weekend. We had a blast dining out at Sola de Luna and attending a dessert shower at one of the bridesmaids home on Friday night. We got a kick out of watching Melissa open her lacy to racy items to take on her honeymoon. What a wonderful weekend to reunite with sorority sisters.

 

 

Now, we couldn't just swing into town without a special mission: Operation Hold the Twins. I've been dying to meet two special little boys born to my roommate in college, Terra on my birthday week. I've been living on sweet pictures from her blog for a week and could barely hold myself back from just getting in the car and driving over on their birthday. What a sweet, sweet time of holding Logan & Will and cuddling with them in their swaddled blankets. Terra looks amazing and makes mothering twins look like a breeze. It's just so special when one of your dearest friends has a baby. I can't wait to watch them grow (all to quickly) and hopefully become Miller's future playmates.

 

 

I have to add a special thank-you to the Rock Star daddy of 406 who joyfully watched Miller and even encouraged me to join my high school girlfriends for a night out on Saturday. I needed this weekend to recharge and socialize with the girls. Thanks babe for making it happen! I know Miller was thrilled for some daddy time.
