Just as soon as we were unpacking our suitcases, it was time to hunt under every nook and cranny for our belongings to pack it all back up. Hands and knees crawling scouring under beds and closets to double check for missing socks and suits. It's always Landon's tradition to do the final sweep before we finally commit to backing out. It's a little chaotic keeping up with just our families' personal belongings in a cabin full of cousins.
We did pause long enough to enjoy the view one last time. A Smoky mountain morning is a really good morning wake up call. Ok, the gorgeous view with my cup of coffee rocking on the back deck without the kids was the ideal wake up call that I enjoyed on our stay.
And, just because it's not everyday we get to steal a long weekend away with our family, we managed to snap a few cousin pictures to freeze frame this fun little getaway.
It was a blessing to our family to squeeze in one last road trip of our summer. Omi and Papa loved all their little chicks under one cabin roof. Seven grand kids is a wonderful blessing.
Then there were the drawn out, procrastinated goodbyes-- three layers deep of sweet hugs to get out the door, high fives, and cheek squeezing to send us on our way. We finally set off down the winding mountain road reflecting and sharing our favorite memories of all the fun we had in the Smokey's.
