Cruising through our summer bucket list & we landed at Stone Mountain for a Friday evening show. I hope to continue this Atlanta tradition for years to come. This was our second attempt after our original save- the -date resulted in a stormy wash out. And, it's not that easy coordinating three families' plans with July travels.
That's been the ongoing theme of our summer break--cancelled plans because of all the rain. We were fairly confident that we chose a reliable night with our second attempt. 0 % chance of rain, the forecasts predicted.... however a fine Scottish mist followed us to the Laser Show. It moved out pretty quickly though, and the kids managed to have a mud between your toes good time:) Miss priss needed several sandal wiping clean ups to enjoy her time on the lawn. She's just not a fan of getting dirty--that girly, girl of mine:)
Ms. Jessica and the girls taught Eliza Kate the Macarena. She loves playing with the older girls. It's wonderful to hang out with long time besties and their kids.
Between baseball hitting & catching with the boys, daddy did a dance or two with his little lady. She's quite the dancer when the music comes on.
The Stone Mountain Express is a huge draw for our train lover. One of these days, we'll spend the afternoon in the park to visit the other attractions. We did work in a quick picnic dinner before the sun went down.
In so many ways, nothing has changed between us since high school. But, in SO many ways our lives have changed from any sort of resemblance to the teenage girls we once were. Oh, to be footloose and fancy free again;)
At dusk, things really got exciting for the kiddos with the addition of dollar store glow sticks and light up toys. The anticipation for the laser show was thrilling as everyone cozied in for the best view of the mountain.
Here's to fun summer nights with friends. This is what summer is made of!
