Miller's 14 months already! His little personality continues to develop every month. Here's a little snapshot into the new talents and that he's developing. Miller loves to greet "da da" when he comes home from work each day. As soon as Miller hears the garage door open he rushes to the door in full anticipation for a rowdy, out of control, excited greeting from dad. A game of hide and seek usually occurs within a few minutes of this welcome home. "Da da" hides around the couch, and gate while Miller crouches and chases him around the kitchen and entry way. Out pops "da da" which startles Miller to swoop him up into his waiting arms.
Miller has added a few new words to his vocabulary. He loves to point up to the ceiling, mainly the lights and fan and say "see, see"! He does this when we enter into new rooms or places. Miller also says "kitty" when he chases Jackson around the kitchen. Sometimes it sounds like "Hi kitty" or "Kitty, Hi". Other new words include "crack...er" and "chee" for cheese. He's attempting to say bread but it sounds like "br".
Other entertaining talents include, throwing his shoes in the trash can at Grandmama and Poppy's house. It's a good thing Grandmama saw Miller do this for the first time or we'd still be looking for those shoes. Miller loves to throw his toys around. Occasionally, some will find there way underneath our couch. Miller will squat down with his ear to the floor in search for the missing toy. Sometimes, he's even successful at retrieving his lost belonging by reaching far under the couch. Our little monkey is a dancer. He loves to entertain a watching audience by pushing a musical toy and bouncing up and down smiling. He even claps for himself after he's finished shaking his booty!! Miller LOVES to close doors around here. He can't stand for the refrigerator door to be open, so he promptly closes it as soon as I get something out. He's starting to reach for door knobs on his tippy toes because he's made the connection that the world outside is just a turn of the wrist away.
When Miller knows he is about to go somewhere forbidden or do something he knows he shouldn't, he'll shake that little head back and forth which signals him to think "no". It's too cute to watch. This 14 month mover and shaker is on the go. After waking in the morning, he plots his course and zoom he's off to run laps around the kitchen and dining room. He likes to play "hard to get"! Miller will act like he is walking straight toward your arms and then at the very last second he makes a u-turn get away. Then he'll turn back around and give a little smile that seems to say, let's play the "catch me if you can" game momma. My favorite new learned behavior happens when Miller and I hug. I give him a friendly pat & rub on his back, he then pats me on my back too....little love pats from my boy... Does it get any better than that? Those love pats bring me such joy and contentment at the end of the day. We love you little guy. You bring so much action and joy into our lives.
