Pool-A-Palooza

Happy first day of summer..... Although, I feel like we've been enjoying summer for weeks now with these HOT temps. We are soaking in all the enjoyment that summer has to offer these past few weeks. Miller loves to be on the go and so does mommy. It's been nice to have a little outing/activity each day to keep us busy.

On Wednesday, we nixed the hot playdate at East Cobb Park. It's just getting too hot to lounge on a blanket in the sun. Last week, when it was 90 some odd degrees, I ended up chasing Miller around the park dripping with sweat and retrieving him from various picnic blankets and strollers! Instead, we "chilled" out in Crisitina and Sophia's backyard pool. Miller loved splashing and playing with Jack and Sophia on their "sunbathing pool ledge". It was just the right depth of water for the mommas to sit while the babies and Duke (the dog) played in the pool. Duke entertained the kiddos with his ball catching maneuvers. Jack found this endlessly entertaining. His uncontrollable giggles were so cute to listen to. We missed you Heather and Meg....I guess having a baby was an excellent excuse to miss out on all the fun. Kate will just have to join in on the fun when she's ready. Miller had his first taste of pizza at this pool party after watching his friends bite into this yummy treat. He kept wanting more of my sweet pineapple slice.

Friday, in between naps, we headed out to Jessica & Gracie's pool in Harmony on the Lakes with Mandy & Anna. Miller was wow'ed by not one...but two big baby pools. This was our first experience walking through a 1 foot baby pool of water to play. We had a few "oopseys" under water, but I was Miller's shadow waiting to rescue him at any moment. He just got right back up and into full play mode. I think it's time to invest in little floaties for Miller's arms... that is if he'll keep them on. He wasn't too interested in his float in the baby pool. It was like a walker keeping him confined from all the busy things he wanted to explore. We ate lunch poolside and played until afternoon naptime. Miller almost fell asleep on the way home!

We're looking forward to more pool-a-palooza fun over the next few weeks!
