Summer Pastime

My favorite summer pastime is a good ole fashioned family BBQ. When you combine that with a day of swimming with Uncle Clay, you've really put Miller over the top. That's exactly how we spent our day on Thursday. Miller loved showing Clay his new pool run & jump. It's not really a run because I only let him take 2 big steps before he plunges himself into the water. One thing's for sure, this boy is not afraid to leap off of the steps or jump from the side of the pool into waiting arms. He enjoys the freedom of no floaties. Uncle Clay enjoyed rough housing with his little nephew in the water, dunking and throwing him in the air.
Miller's funny comments and words never fail to entertain us. He enjoys pointing to the tile on the concrete and "reads" the words, "No Diving". He also thinks it says, "No Running". We'll let him think that because we're constantly tell him to walk around the edge of the pool.

Our BBQ dinner was at Grandmama and Poppys later in the afternoon. Grandmama and Poppy installed a gate on their covered porch to keep Miller in a safe spot playing while we eat! As long as you give him cars and trucks, he'll play until his heart is content out on the deck.
