We feel so fortunate to have Landon's parents just a short 3 hour drive away. This weekend we had an overnighter on Friday night to welcome Landon's Aunt Gayle and Uncle Chip (M's interpretation "Uncle Chimp") from Arizona. Every time we go to Knoxville, it feels like a little getaway from our day to day. Life slows down a little and we truly enjoy just being with one another. And, the food...did I mention the 4 course meals we enjoy compliments of Omi and Papa? Their passion for cooking is an all day affair. Omi made my hands down favorite dessert, Southern Living's homemade strawberry cake. Morning, noon, and night, we're eating!! Hiking around the neighborhood sure did help us work off those extra calories. Although, I still feel my pants are a little tighter every time we return.
Landon's aunt and uncle spoiled Miller with a "Cars" activity track and books that coordinate with the movie. This is one of Miller's all time favorite videos. Between playing with his new books and Omi and Papa's stash of goodies, this toddler had a lot to do.
Miss Meredeth was definitely a highlight of our stay. Her newborn sweetness is contagious and we just love being an aunt and uncle to this cutie pie. Miller sure did get the giggles helping Omi tickle his new cousin. I think they're going to really hit it off once she's walking!
We drove home late Saturday night, to get into our "back to school" routine for Monday. More on the back to school days soon!

Splendid water adventures and minglings with Maw and Paw Fokens! I dig the new blog layout too, Erica. Thank you for keeping such diligence on it. Love you monkeys.
