september cookout

Our family always look forward to the Cibula's annual backyard cookout every September. Traditions are fun to have & keep and the kids sure do enjoy it! A little mix up with our Saturday plans called for our family to divide and conquer this year. Landon sure hates to miss this party.
Check out the plaid shorted gang taking over the tree house. At one point they were all arguing over who was in charge. Can we say alpha male convention in the man cave  tree house?

Before the men played Bocci ball, the boys were taking turns rolling cannon balls down the slide. It's amazing the games they come up with on their own. Luckily, none of the babies got caught in a crossfire of cannons.

These two were proud sitters last year, playing on the deck. Eliza Kate noticed Maggie's dining skills with her fork and decided to try out using her utensils. She was watching her intensely, mimicking her manners. Of course, EK took the liberty to sample a few things from her plate too. We're trying to teach her to stay focused on her plate;)
The annual group shot is a must. Popsicle bribery at it's best. The only requirement is sitting still long enough to smile. What a cute group of kiddos I might add!

The baby sisters stayed long enough to enjoy their pops altogether. It's so refreshing to have a girly that sits in one place, relaxed and willing to enjoy her Popsicle in a calm fashion. For the most part, if I sit her in one position...she stays. It's amazing!  I am definitely noticing a difference in raising girls and boys already.

Nothing like sharing a treat with your girlfriends..drips and all!

so many cute kids! we have these thngs called DRIPSTICKS? I think thats what they are.. you can google them, but I knw walmart has something similar. It lets you put pop sticks into it, and it catches all the drips :) - Owen does well with it until he decides to tip it over :D

But does cut down on drips.
