last night

On our last night after dinner, we wanted to ride the vintage carousel in Coolidge Park. Our hopes were dashed when it closed 20 minutes before we arrived. Luckily, Miller is getting better with a change of plans. When we offered taking a walk on the pedestrian bridge and ice cream, he perked right up! 

We scouted out the Walnut Street Bridge that crossed the Tennessee River. Come to find out, it's one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world. Here's where the poor planning on my part kicks in. I should have sported my tennis shoes. My jeweled Target sandals hardly did the trick on the 2,376 foot trek. It was a lot of fun, regardless of my poor shoe choice. There were lots of people out and about because of the gorgeous weather. Dinner boats lined the shore and we witnessed a few skiers on the water. Miller liked seeing that. Eliza Kate spent her time announcing the dogs from her perch in the stroller, "Doggy, oh doggy!" She's so in love with furry four legged animals. From our view on the bridge, we could see all the new construction and urban development going on. Chattanooga is a different place from the trips I remember over the years. We indulged in ice cream while resting for the trip back. See Miller's gleaming white shirt? Thankful that my photo editor removes large chocolate stains. He even managed large drips on his shoes...boys!! Another poorly planned clothing choice.

On our venture back over the bridge, Miller announced that all he wanted to do was run in that green grass in the common area at the park by the bridge. He saw all the potential from way up high and just had to get his last wiggles out. So, both kiddos blew off some steam before heading back. I must admit, it did look inviting.

Eliza Kate is really identifying with the mommy role. I see a baby doll stroller in her future.

There's just something about juicy baby legs with ruffled socks & keds. Soaking in every last ounce of baby fat with this sweet one. Thankful for fall break and togetherness!
