We enjoyed our Saturday afternoon across the street celebrating Grant's 2nd birthday at the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". Ambrea ,our neighbor, is quite the party planner. Their backyard is the perfect place to play. We received a CD invitation with all of Mickey's favorite songs about a month ago. Landon and I played the songs in the car for Miller and he smiled and clapped along. When the songs were playing at the party we could all chime in and sing! Landon even belted out a few verses. Oh how our life is changing. Kids parties are becoming our weekend social outings & we love it!
It was a beautiful afternoon for the water party. Miller wore his suit and hat ready for all the fun. When we first got to the party he marveled at the water castle, slip and slide, endless water toys and the baby pools. He just "soaked" it all in at first...staring at the big kids playing. Miller has to warm up and observe everything before he'll venture out and explore.
Our clean boy quickly turned into a muddy, grassy, sandy shirted little guy in no time. He's ALL boy. Miller enjoyed the sand today on Grant's sand table. He put a big handful in his mouth and quickly realized that sand is not tasty at all. We rinsed his hands in the water table and he loved splashing the water all about. All the kids at the table cleared away quickly from our wild water man. In no time he was drenched from head to toe.
Then it was off to explore the slip n slide. Now remember, we're trying to walk over here and NOT slip, slide or fall. So this experience sent this momma into protective overdrive ready to rescue our tripping boy at any moment. Miller really did enjoy walking down the slide stopping to explore the shooting water. He loved to splash at the wading pool near the bottom. Landon and I commented that this was the dirtiest we think Miller's ever gotten outside...It's only the beginning of all the fun playing in the dirt!!
When we got home, it was straight to the backyard to undress Miller and towel off the caked on mud. A thorough sudsing was in order!
Happy Happy Birthday Grant. Looking forward to many more backyard adventures.
