We enjoyed a fun cookout with the neighbors on our street this afternoon. The kids loved the freedom of riding their bikes and playing with eachother all around the cul de sac. Miller enjoyed toddling around chasing all the bikes and exploring everyone's front yard. He's so fascinated with anything that has wheels. That's a boy for ya! He loves to kneel down and turn them round and round.
We're still learning how to parent this "self sufficient" :) walker. It brings many challenges when he wants to be independent and go off on a wild goose chase by himself resisting his mommy's help. He thinks he can do it all on his own with no assistance..... Oh the joys of the independent toddler! I guess I should appreciate that he is confident and doesn't NEED me all the time. As the saying goes...The grass is always greener on the other side.

The adults enjoyed grilling out and chatting. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was fun to socialize with some neighbors that we rarely get to see. Miller enjoyed playing with David for the first time. They took turns riding in the "cah". The boys are only eight weeks apart. Now that he is walking, he is able to keep up with Grant and Ryan who are almost two years old. Of course he always loves seeing Ms. Maddie from across the street. Miller exhausted himself running up and down the street. After Miller fell fast asleep, I was able to go back out and relax with a sleeping baby only a few houses away. Our family enjoyed this wonderful end to the weekend. What a way to welcome in the summer!
