Magical Meeting

On Saturday, our family enjoyed attending Alexandra's second birthday. And, guess who was a very special guest? Santa! We coached Miller for a whole week on his St. Nick manners...his greeting, what he should say, where he would sit, and what he might graciously ask for. On the way to the party, he kept repeating to us, "I'm not scared of Santa, mommy" "I won't cry this year!"

Miller tried to sit patiently through The Night Before Christmas read by Santa himself, but all he could think of was his list of gifts. So darn cute. He whispered in my ear, "When can I go sit on his lap?" This is finally the year that it's all magical. Miller is starry eyed and caught up in the wonder of the season. Every decorated tree, lit up house, Nativity Scene, inflatable, wreath, reindeer..the whole month is exciting. Oh to be a child, and view Christmas through their eyes.

After the story, we waited in a short line until it was our turn to greet the jolly old man.

Hmm...acting shy and trying to recall that list. I think Miller was a little star struck.

He finally spouted off two items..a Publix tractor trailer, and a truck that has cars on it. We keep telling him to shoot for the moon and just wait to see what happens. That's what I love about our little man. He still has no grandiose expectations for Christmas morning.

Let's not forget the little sugarplum princess, who soaked in every ounce of her brother's spotlight on Santa's lap. This was her first time to sit atop St. Nick's lap. She looked up at his beard a few times, but for the most part she only had eyes for her big brother. Eliza Kate's whole face lights up when she spots Miller in a room. She adores him!

There were Christmas babies galore at the party. Eliza Kate enjoyed her time with all the little sisters. The party girl is down front with the "a" outfit. Happy Birthday Alexandra!

We passed the dress rehearsal with flying colors. Now, off to the formal meeting on Tuesday!
