We checked the World of Coke Museum off of our summer bucket list. Some think it's a tourist trap, but I just chalk it up to a fun family day close to home. I remember touring the old Coke museum site in Underground Atlanta as a little girl. The new site is housed inside Centennial Park--a touristy section of downtown Atlanta. We decided last minute to park at the Perimeter Marta station and take the train downtown. This just might have been Miller's highlight of the entire day. He packed along my old camera to snap numerous underground subway pictures along the route. He was rattling off questions & talking our ears off with excitement during our much longer than expected travel time. Hey, we did it all for him---definitely a culturing MARTA experience. Meeting the Coke Polar Bear was the second stop inside the museum. Let's just say Eliza Kate was over the moon with his gentle spirit. She even petted his nose with such sweetness. No fears about the big, white bear:)

We leisurely made our way through the exhibits and the bottling tour. It was crowded as it was a Saturday. Miller loved watching "Fizzy Bot" in action. We toured the vault where the Coke secret is locked up tight. I thought for sure the 4D movie with moving chairs & spraying water would send our missy into a tizzy. The backs of the seats jabbed our backs with little surprises to coordinate with the movie just like A Bug's Life in Animal Kingdom. Eliza Kate laughed the whole way through the movie, but refused to wear the special glasses. Meanwhile, Miller was reaching out & grabbing everything in front of his face still not grasping the whole 4D concept.
"Taste It" was the littles favorite exhibit. The exhibit boasted 100 plus favorites from around the world. Miller got excited like a kid in the candy store knowing he could actually sample his choice of a caffeinated beverage in his own plastic cup. Eliza Kate quickly figured out how to work the self serve soda machine. South Africa's neon yellow pine nut drink was a sugary hit. Miller had a half filled cup in each hand as the coke tasting wore on. Heed our warning not to try out the famous, nasty BEVERLY drink from Itlaly. Landon played a trick on us all.
Our last stop on the MARTA circuit was to the Varsity--another favorite Atlanta tradition. We talked up the whole history of "Whadd-ya Have?" to Miller on the way. He knew he should probably know what he wanted off the menu before stepping up to the counter. We dined on "naked dogs" and greasy onion rings {yum}! It was just another excuse to wear soda pop hats over lunch. Besides the Duck Dynasty look a like family behind us speaking all kinds of words that sent me covering the littles ears, we had an enjoyable time. Oh, and Miller watched an interesting hand cuffing arrest in the parking lot. Did I mention a culturing experience?
