trip to the ham'

I feel like our summer is divided into two halves...Before the big move & then after the move. We planned all our little trips towards the end of summer after all the hard work of packing was completed. It was exhausting. Once we got settled {into my parent's basement} for the time being...I surprised Miller with the news of a "two sleeps" little get away to Birmingham to see the Morrow boys. Take note, that besides sleeping our princess went shirtless and was just one of the boys for a couple of days..

Will and Logan's highly anticipated slip and slide came out while we were playing in the backyard. Their backyard has the perfect slope for sliding.Instead of getting bathing suited up, Eliza Kate slowly lost each article of clothing as the afternoon wore on. No need for her ruffled suit! She danced a little lighter in just her diaper..freedom!

At first, she only wanted to dance in the sprinklers at the bottom of the slide.

And, then the boys tripled up for a three man dash to the bottom toppling all over each other at the foot of the slide. Nothing like little boy giggles to get them all geared up for another round down the hill.

Of course little sister learns by example.... this dare devil of mine. It wasn't long before she took to the slippery slide down the hill. What a big time she was having!

We spent lots of time in the water cooling off on this trip. It was fun to swim & eat lunch poolside. There's really no where else to be on a hot, humid day in the armpit of the south {as I like to reference Birmingham}.

Our trigger happy boys with their water guns....Triple trouble for sure. If only we had a tape recorded attached to a megaphone that repeated," Not in the face please. Aim for the belly."

Round 2 of slip and slide madness did not disappoint after naps. These boys had a lot of steam to burn off. I don't think the slip and slide will ever outlast its novelty in Miller's book.

Miller's perfecting his photography skills these days and snapped this one. Blurry, but proof that Terra and I also enjoyed our mommy weekend. Sharing in another season of life as friends. We've come a long way since our Samford days as roommates. Her friendship for life is such a blessing to me.

Another shirtless opportunity enjoying ice cream cones all together. This is the best way to save time & energy on stain fighting chocolate drips! We left with wonderful memories of our spend the night party. A big thank you to the Morrows for hosting our crew in sweet, home Alabama.
