Here Comes the Bride!

We all celebrated with Alli on Saturday with a bridal shower at the Greshams. We're so excited as her September wedding to Tim quickly approaches. I can't believe it's almost here. It was a wonderful time to bless Allison's upcoming marriage. After the shower, while we were packing up, no one was anxious to leave. We sat around and chatted while the daddy's watched the kids!
When I returned home, I learned that Landon had composed a song on his guitar called "Rocking in the Boppy" for Miller. I know it will be a hit!

Miller is four months old as of July 25th. We had his four month check up on Wednesday. While I was sitting in the waiting room I noticed that not too many children leave the doctor's office smiling. They were all whining or crying. It's just not a fun place to be! Miller is too young to know that when we walk in the door it means shots!! Pretty soon we'll have to bribe him with a treat like ice cream. We found out that Miller weighs in at 16 pounds 3 ounces. He's slowing down a little in the weight gain, as he dropped from the 90% to the 75%. That only means that mommy will be able to lug around his "oh so heavy" carrier a little while longer!

Miller is making great strides with his head control. We'll soon be able to start solids. I'm waiting to see if he shows more interest in our food or spoons before I start. Miller is loving his new Bumbo chair. It's so cute to see his chubby little legs in the molded seat. It makes him look more grown up than he really is because it gives the illusion that he can sit up already. We're loving each stage with our little fella!

Happy Birthday

Landon turned the big 29 today! Just one year away from 3-0....We celebrated over dinner with Grandmama and Poppy. Landon's birthday cake was the traditional Miller family favorite, Grandma Miller's maple cake. It was delicious...thank you Grandmama!

It's a work out!

Paula and Jack invited us to go to Gymboree today. Miller now has his very own membership to a gym ( following in dad's footsteps). We attended a 0-6 month class to strengthen flexibility and motor skills. Miller loved the way Ms. Hillary taught us new tricks to keep tummy time exciting. Miller could look at the mirror below him as incentive to get that head up! We played with a parachute to work on visual tracking. At the end of class he got to feel sugar bubbles tickle his nose. Miller was thrilled to take home Gymbo the puppet to go with our G-Y-M-B-O (Old McDonald) tune. Mommas and babies had a ball!

My first trip to Knoxville

We took Miller on his first overnight trip 4th of July weekend. After packing up the car ALL day Friday, we were ready to hit the road to Tennesee. It's amazing how many bags you have to pack for a baby! The road trip up to Knoxville is around 3 hours. We left at Miller's bedtime on Friday evening after picking up my parents from the airport. He slept the entire way to Knoxville. It was great!
On Saturday, we all ate at Calhouns on the water. Miller enjoyed looking at the ducks and watching the boats come in. On Sunday, Omi and Grandpa enjoyed taking Miller to their Sunday School class so everyone could meet Miller. After church, we got to hang out with Aunt Laurel for lunch. Miller had a fantastic first trip!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful time on the 4th with some friends from church. Jennifer and Andrew were so sweet to invite us all to Andrew's golf course, Cherokee Country Club. The kids had the best time running around on the greens....the dads did too! Miller got to ride on a golf cart for the first time. We're hoping that he enjoyed the experience so much that he will be an avid golfer one day...we'll see about that! The weather was perfect and the fireworks were fantastic.
Miller had a great experience with his first fireworks show! We were a little nervous about how he would react to fireworks. He had a shocking startle reflex with the first loud pop..but then he was fixated on the rest of the show. He stared and looked up with big eyes! It was the best overhead mobile ever:)

Hanging out with the boyz

The Evans joined us for dinner on Sunday night. Whit, Hudson, and Miller all played together. Whit loved making Miller smile. He's such a good big brother to Hudson. Whit knew exactly how to interact with Miller. It was neat to watch!
